Trunk or Treat

As we do every year, we attended a Fall Festivale at our church instead of trick or treating for Halloween. The kids had their own ideas of what/who they wanted to be this year. Sydney saw the Wonderwoman outfit and fell in love with it. Trevor didn't want to do anything at first but while we were looking on-line for costume ideas he saw a penguin. Mom made the costume. Leyton changed his mind at the last minute and thank goodness a friend had a football outfit. For some reason, Leyton has become obsessed with the Redskins.

In addition to attending the Trunk or Treat we also decorated our "trunk" to hand out candy. While trying to think of a theme of some sort it dawned on mom that since we have pumpkins anyway, it could be fun to make a little pumpkin patch in the back of the van. People seemed to really like it. Even with having to clean up all of the straw, it was really easy.

It was hard to get the pumpkins to light up really well because there was so much light in the parking lot. Mom had bought glow sticks to put in the pumkins which ended up looking really cool because they were different colors.

Celebrating Fall

Leyton's preschool class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. He had a lot of fun picking out a pumpkin of his very own. It was a beautiful day.

Sydney and Britney had some girls over for a Fall party. They decorated pumkins, made a necklace and also had some yummy food. All the girls had a great time

Back to School

This is Leyton's first time going to school. He is attending a 3 day preschool at our church. He was excited but we could tell that he was a little apprehensive once he realized we were really going to leave him. However once he was in his class he started to explore the room and didn't mind us leaving.

Daddy wanted to have a party now that all of the kids are gone at some point but mommy did get a little emotional. It's hard seeing the "baby" so grown up.

Trevor has the same bus and bus driver as last year so he knows what to expect. He was excited about going back to school and seeing some of his friends. Wow - 4th grade.

Our Brave Little Girl

As a reward for doing her best on swim team and completing the season, we had told Sydney she could get her ears pierced. She thought about it for a while and because of some other things we waited a few weeks. Well, she finally decided that she would like to do it but was a little bit afraid. She cried when they did the procedure but thankfully they did both ears at the same time so she couldn't back out. Now she is proud of herself and wanted to share her new decorated ears with you.

Trevor's 9th Birthday

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Tarrh's house for a little family party to celebrate Trevor's birthday. It was fun being together and Trevor loved getting some gifts. When we left we brought Trevor back with us but left Leyton and Sydney up there to spend the week with their grandparents.

Being with the family is great but everyone wants to have a party so Trevor decided to invite some friends to the pool. They played for about 3 hours and then we came back to the house for a sleepover. While the boys behaved very well, they decided to stay up late - 3 a.m. - once Kevin and I were asleep. Trevor had fun just hanging with his buds.

Sydney's Last Meet

Sydney had her last meet on Monday, July 21. She did amazing!!! She swam free and back again and placed in both events. She swam her free in 25.05 seconds and came in 6th place out of 22 swimmers. Then in back stroke she swam it in 29.76 seconds which put her in 3rd place out of 21 swimmers and she also won her heat. For the first time this season she also swam breast stroke. She was a little bit nervous but did really well. She won her heat but we found out later that she DQ'd. We're not sure yet what the problem was but we're going to find out so she can work on it.
